DNC Night One

A quick visit from Kamala.

AOC. Hillary. Heartfelt speeches from family, friends, and firebrands who pour their heart out, like Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett.

Stunning heartbreaking courage of the three woman who just shared their abortion stories with a national audience.

The Reverend Raphael Warnick, U.S. Senator (D-GA) who just brought the entire room to their feet.

And minutes from now, Dr. Jill Biden, and then President Joe Biden.

I have not seen this kind of enthusiasm for a national candidate since Barrack Obama came to Denver in 2008 to be nominated. GNB was there.

I have not seen this kind of HOPE since Barack Obama ran for and became President. GNB was there.

And best of all, in my life I have not ever seen this kind of JOY in a campaign. And we are all here now.

For over sixteen years our colleague Sara Robinson, the brilliant futurist, has begged Democrats to return to the emotional core of what it means to be an American. Regular people. With everyday American values.

To make clear that the Democratic Party stands for what Americans stand for:

Family and friends.
Community that cares for each other.
A good job.
The right to make your own medical decisions.
Equal protection for all.
The dream and possibility of America for everyone.

And a love for our country that cuts to the core, lifts us all up together, and fills our hearts with hope, with joy, and with a shared vision for the future.

Welcome to the Democratic National Convention for introducing to America, the next President of the United States, Kamala Harris.
