Al-Qaeda = Sunni
Iran = Shi'ia

In both these cases, Al-Qaeda and Shi'ia extremists, we are talking about a particular type of religious extremists. They hate each other. They believe each others branch of Islam is an abomination before God.

John McCain has no idea what he is talking about. 5 years into a war involving exactly these 2 groups of people, in a region that has suffered from the intra religious wars from these groups for a long, long time. The republican nominee is fucking clueless about what is happening and who is who.
