Make no mistake. I haven't run campaigns or been involved at "high levels" of the DNC, but I know more than a couple of "surrogates". Geraldine Ferraro is a tool of the Clinton campaign. Surrogates don't say anything they haven't been told to say. Especially when a controversy covers more than a week, you can be sure of that. She was speaking for Hillary Clinton, and she said exactly what she was told to say. They trotted her out and sacrificed her on the DNC campaign bonfire. It will be another 20 years before we hear from her again.
